Hetty Doyle



Hetty lives in the Hinterland on the Blackall Range, where she has her studio. This gives her the inspiration for her paintings of the beautiful flora and fauna in the area, her artwork winning many prizes for these and also for her landscapes and portraiture.

Her travels abroard have influenced her paintings of the people, their cultures, history and architecture. Her work is in private collections around Australia and America, as well as in many countries of Europe and New Caledonia.

Hetty travelled around southern Australia’s countryside, painting and attending the class at the Art Gallery of NSW, where Wendy Sharpe (Archibald Prizewinner) was the teacher. She has attended workshops of Australian artists -Margaret Cowling, Amanda Hyatt, Greg Allen, Herman Pekel, Robert Wade, Ross Patterson and others.

Hetty participated, in March 2002 , in the Caterina de Medici Painting Award in Florence, Italy, where she received a silver medal.

Hetty works in mixed media or acrylic /oils often on the large canvasses. Most of her watercolours remain contemporary/ traditional.
