Margi Parton

Margi Parton - Photographer.

Local photographer Margi Parton has lived in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland for the past 16 years, making Maleny her home some years ago. She is dedicated to capturing the image she sees through the lens and faithfully reproducing it. Her work is rich in authenticity and free from digital enhancement or manipulation of any kind.

Margi has had three exhibitions of her work, "Glimpses" in 2004, "A Touch of Tassie and Something Local" in 2005, and "Red Centre Dreaming" in 2006. She also contributed images to "Maleny in Focus", in January 2007. A month long exhibition of some 200 images displayed at 4 venues in Maleny, and staged by the Hinterland Photo Club, of which Margi is a founding member.

Her discerning eye for detail produces evocative, intimate images of scenes and objects that may otherwise be overlooked, resulting in extraordinary photographic art to suit both traditional and contemporary design.

Margi's passion for photography has taken her overseas, but her heart remains in her beloved country Australia, where she delights in photographing the mystery, colour and breathtaking scenery of the Australian Outback. She is planning another trip to the Territory in 2007 where she looks forward to capturing more new and exciting images.
